BA/MA Program

Dual Degrees

For CAS students who wish to pursue a Master's degree in the Graduate School of Arts and Science, there is an Accelerated Bachelor's/Master's Program (http://cas.nyu.edu/object/ug.academicprogram.bamasters & http://wagner.nyu.edu/dualdegrees/dual1.php), which is open to students who have completed a minimum of 48 credits, but not more than 96 credits at NYU, and have two full semesters remaining toward the bachelor's degree. There is also another new tuition program, for January and May 2009 graduates (http://www.nyu.edu/cas/seniors/CAS_GSAS.htm). Both offer substantial tuition remission. Students must take a minimum of two Graduate courses as Undergraduates. These courses must be excluded from their Undergraduate degree and applied to the MA degree. This can be done in consultation with their adviser, and is the responsibility of the student.

The ES Program is affiliated with the MA Program in Bioethics: Life, Health and Environment, which is a strong match for many ES students. In particular, the MA is well-suited for students interested in (1) broadening their ES education to incorporate health concerns, especially as they relate to the environment (e.g., public health and climate change), and (2) deepen their understanding of ethics. More information on the Environment Track of the Bioethics MA is available at http://bioethics.as.nyu.edu/object/bioethics.environmenttrack, and on the program at http://bioethics.as.nyu.edu/page/graduate.
