Bioethics Colloquium with Marion Nestle 'Ethical Issues in Food and Nutrition'
Paulette Goddard Professor of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health
Steinhardt Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health, New York University
Almost anything related to food raises ethics issues of one kind or another. Examples: Is it ethical to eat meat? Is it ethical for "junk food" manufacturers to market to children or to low-income consumers in the United States or in developing countries? Is it ethical to promote the use of meal replacement products to children who are not in emergency situations? Such issues do not have easy answers and, for that reason, are worth serious thought.
